Associate Attorney
Frances Acevedo

Frances Acevedo, our Associate Attorney, has been a movie lover her entire life. She began making short films with her neighbor at the age of 9 and continued making shorts throughout high school. She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Film & Television and Psychology and earned an Excellence in Producing Award. During her time at Tisch, she worked in the film and television industry in a variety of capacities starting as a Production Assistant and working her way up to a Production Coordinator. Frances has experience working with artists both on and off set and uses her wide range of experience to make the business/legal side of the industry more accessible to artists.

Frances graduated from Georgia State University’s College of Law where she served as the VP of Entertainment of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society. She graduated with a Certificate in Sports and Entertainment Law. Frances is a native Spanish speaker.

During her 2L summer, Frances externed at Georgia Lawyers for the Arts. She then worked as a law clerk and later as an associate for a music attorney here in Atlanta where she learned the ins and outs of the music industry. She also worked as a Litigation Associate handling settlement negotiations and construction liability cases for a small civil litigation firm before joining The Seay Firm.

Frances’s current practice includes helping artists to navigate the film, television, and music industry, from film and album clearances to talent deals.

On her off time, Frances frequents The Plaza Theater and travels to different film festivals to see what’s new. Her favorite film of all time is “Wings of Desire” by Wim Wenders (Fun fact: She met Wim Wenders at the 2018 Berlin Film Festival during the film’s 4K restoration screening).
