On Tuesday, August 11, 2015, Atlanta entertainment lawyer John Seay will lead a seminar on producer agreements at the Georgia Lawyers for the Arts offices at the King Plow Arts Center. The title of the seminar is “Producer Agreements 101: What They Are, What They Include, and How to Negotiate Them.” The seminar is free, although a donation to Georgia Lawyers for the Arts is suggested. The seminar will begin promptly at 6:30pm and run for an hour. John will provide a table of contents for a typical producer agreement, discuss the differences between a producer agreement for a major label artist and an independent artist, and provide some tips for negotiating producer agreements. A question and answer session will follow, although of course no specific advice about pending legal issues can be given.
