August has been (and will continue to be) a busy month here at The Seay Firm.
First, in case you’ve missed it, Immersive ATL has been running an article I wrote. I’ll be posting the article in full on this site (and the first installment is, in fact, already posted here), but here are the links to the current installments over at Immersive:
Part I: The Basics, Part II: Revenues for Songwriters, Part III: Keeping the Right Company, Part IV: Revenues for Artists
Second, I’m honored to have been selected as an Officer of the State Bar of Georgia Entertainment & Sports Law Section. My title is Member at large, Entertainment, which really rolls off the tongue. This is an honor and something I’ve wanted to do for awhile.
Third, I sponsored and helped put together an in-store at Criminal Records. Small Reactions and Dot.s both played. Check them out and buy their stuff! Turnout was fantastic – check my Twitter account (@TheSeayFirmLLC) for a video of Dot.s.

Fourth, I’m a sponsor at Record Label Fest this year. Check the logo on the flyer. I’ll be there throughout the weekend.

Fifth, my buddy Jay Coyle (Music Geek Services) submitted a panel to SXSW. I need you to vote for it though to ensure that it gets selected. It’s a swell topic with (excluding my name) some big names like Maggie Vail (Cash Music) and Nicole Poulos (Sideways Media). Vote and read more about it HERE!
Last, but not least, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be speaking at the AJC Decatur Book Festival in early September:
