The Seay Firm Contributes Article to Copywrite

John Seay, founder of The Seay Firm LLC, recently contributed an article to the Fall 2013 edition of Copywrite, the newsletter for the State Bar of Georgia Entertainment and Sports Law Section.  The article, which you can download and read here, discusses recent attempts by Pandora to effectively lower the amount of royalties they pay to artists, and what effect those efforts may have on the music industry as a whole.

The Seay Firm LLC regularly advises clients on issues relating to copyright law and the quagmire that is the current licensing regime, among many other issues.  If you have any questions relating to performance rights organizations like BMI, ASCAP, or SESAC, digital performance rights organizations like SoundExchange, or how services like Spotify license music and pay artists, then feel free to contact us to discuss.
