Three years and counting – that’s how long The Seay Firm has been in existence. A lot has changed during that time. Although I’m still located at The Goat Farm Arts Center, I’m now in a new and better space downstairs from my old office. If you haven’t made it out to the GF yet, you should stop by. There’s always lots of cool stuff happening there.
Practice Update
First things first. I’ve been doing more film and television work lately, although music is still the bulk of my practice. I also spend a fair amount of time registering copyrights and trademarks and incorporating businesses. Of course, my practice isn’t just limited to the areas discussed here – I regularly work with all sorts of clients in the entertainment industries. You can see a list of some of my current clients, and even listen to a Spotify playlist featuring some of my music clients, by clicking here. And if you’re into this kind of thing, you can also listen to a recent interview I did about my practice on Business Radio X by clicking here.
Relationship with Loeb & Loeb
In other news, The Seay Firm now has a relationship with Loeb & Loeb’s Entertainment and Media Practice Group. I’ll be assisting Loeb in some of their entertainment matters, all from the cozy confines of my office at the GF. I expect this new relationship to bring a lot of value to my current and future clients, as I’ll be working alongside some of the best and well-connected entertainment attorneys in the business. I’ll also have a Nashville office, which means I’ll hopefully be seeing a lot more of my Nashville-based friends and clients. Just to reiterate, The Seay Firm is still fully operational and taking on new clients – I’ll just be spending a little bit more time in Nashville. And eating a lot more hot chicken.
New Website
And if all that wasn’t enough, I also have a new website. I worked with the wonderful people over at Misfit Ideas, LLC to find a new way of representing my business without losing some of the low-fi, DIY charm of the old site, which of course I built myself in the first few weeks of my practice. I think the new site strikes a fine balance, and moreover I’m now fully mobile responsive, which is swell. Let me know your thoughts and feel free to share the link with your contacts. Special thanks to Olivia Clark for writing some great blog posts for me.
Working Title Playwrights and #weloveatl
One last thing – as many of you know, I serve on the board of Working Title Playwrights, a local non-profit that helps writers tell their stories for stage. I’m also proud to announce that I’ll soon be serving on the board of #weloveatl, another local non-profit that inspires Atlantans to share their love of the city through photography. They do great work and have inspired some amazing photos.
Thanks! Feel free to update me on what you’re working on. And if you need anything from me, please don’t hesitate to ask. I’m always reachable by email and phone or text (404) 913-4232. If you want to keep up with The Seay Firm on a more regular basis, then check the website often for updates, as I blog frequently. You can also follow me on Twitter (@TheSeayFirmLLC) and “Like” me on Facebook.
Postscript
Finally – my daughter turned a year old on September 22 of this year. Below is a picture of her from about four months ago. She thinks I’m a wizard on the guitar now, but it’s only a matter of time before she realizes what a hack I am!
